(Tuesday, 21st day of July 2020)

ILIGAN CITY – The City Government awarded the 135 reservists of the Philippine Army in Iligan City and give its commendation during the Community Service Award Ceremony on Monday, July 20, 2020, at the Anahaw Amphitheater, here.

The recognition of the reservists signifies the active and strong interchange of support between civilians and military, and for their service to the community amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Prior to the ceremony, reservists conducted a capability demonstration at the Anahaw grounds. This was done to show the present status of the operational readiness and the responsiveness of the AFP reserve force.

Iligan City Mayor Celso G. Regencia expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the reservists who are ready anytime to serve the community and support the local government. “Even you do not receive compensation, you still continue to carry out support operations especially in humanitarian assistance by assisting the Local Government Unit in repacking of rice and food packs and relief distribution operations”, Regencia said.

The volunteer reservists bravely accepted the challenge of helping others in this time of need without fear of getting infected with dire consequences.

They are appreciated for their exemplary contribution, hard work, and dedication in gallantly serving the people during this Covid-19 pandemic as Fronliners/Volunteers.

The ceremony was also graced with the presence of Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz, Councilor Petronilo Pardillo, Committee Chair on Finance, Councilor Lamberto Macapagal Jr., Committee Chair on Health and Sanitation, Councilor Ian C. Uy, Committee Chair on Peace and Order, Councilor Cesarve Siacor, ABC President, FCI Butch Baulete, Incident Commander of IATF Covid-19, and other AFP personnel.
