88 Drug Surrenderers Graduated CBDRP

ILIGAN CITY – Graduation ceremony has been conducted for the 88 former drug dependents who have successfully completed their rehabilitation sessions and activities under Iligan City Government’s Community-based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) that was initiated by the Iligan City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ICADAC) in various barangays and in cooperation with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP) , Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Department of Health(DOH).

Drug surrenderers ( which comprised by four barangay- Poblacion, Digkilaan, Acmac and Kiwalan) received their certificate during their graduation held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall on October 16, 2019. The graduation was not the end of the change to come among the former drug dependents who chose to start a new life free of the substance. The graduates have undergone holistic approach to rehabilitation which was conducted by various facilitating teams consisting of social workers, medical practitioners like doctors, psychologists and nurses.There are also volunteers from the religious groups to help in the values formation of the drug dependents as part of working out on their hope to change focused on the healing of the body, mind, and soul through counseling and other therapeutic sessions.

The graduation was also graced with the presence of other distinguished guests namely Councilor Rhandy Ryan Ong ,the Chairman on Committee on Drugs, DILG Deputy Elizabeth Buna, PDEA Agent Ramil Salido, CBDRP Supervisor Dr. Gino Meteoro, Barangay Chairman of Poblacion Anthony Pacaña, Barangay Chairman of Acmac Juvilyn Claveria, representative of Councilor Ian Uy, other police personnel and concerned agencies of government including other religious group.
