MOSCOW – “Men in Black” agents K and J may be about to recruit a new Russian assistant: Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev has spoken about top secret files on aliens that may have landed in Russia.

In footage recorded Friday after a television interview, the former president joked that each Russian leader gets two folders with information about extraterrestrials that visited our planet — and stayed here.

Unseen on camera footage, he was heard telling a Ren TV journalist he could not tell “how many of them are among us, because it may cause panic.” He said more details could be found in Barry Sonnenfeld’s “Men in Black” films.

OLYMPIA, Washington – Two retired military women who fought for the rights of gays in the military were among the hundreds of couples who received their marriage licenses this week as Washington state’s voter-approved law allowing same-sex marriage took effect.

Former Air Force flight nurse Maj. Margaret Witt, of Spokane, and retired nurse, Army Col. Grethe Cammermeyer, of Whidbey Island, both successfully challenged the military’s ban on open service by gays and lesbians. They were first in line on Thursday in their home counties to receive their licenses with their partners.

JOHANNESBURG – South Africa’s former President Nelson Mandela was admitted to a military hospital Saturday for medical tests, though the nation’s president told the public there was “no cause for alarm” over the 94-year-old icon’s health.

The statement issued by President Jacob Zuma’s spokesman said that Mandela was doing well and was receiving medical care “which is consistent for his age.” The statement offered no other details.

BERLIN – Two small planes collided in midair over central Germany on Saturday and crashed, killing seven people, police said.

The collision happened near the small town of Woelfersheim, north of Frankfurt, as darkness fell at around 4:15 p.m. (1515 GMT), police in Friedberg said in a statement. The aircraft crashed into neighboring fields, about 400 yards (365 meters) apart.

It wasn’t immediately clear where the aircraft came from or where they were headed, and there was no information on the victims’ identities.

Police had no immediate information on might have caused the crash.
