Blessing Ceremony of Newly Procured Heavy Machinery of the LGU Iligan

(Tuesday,  12th day of May 2020)

Iligan City – LGU Iligan turned-over the procured mini-dump trucks and tractors to the recipients at the Anahaw Amphitheatre, Buhanginan Hills, Pala-o, Iligan City on May 11.

The Department of Budget & Management (DBM) provided national budget assistance to the city worth fifty million pesos (P50, 000,000), personally approved by our beloved President Duterte, from which the purchase of the equipment was taken from.

Mayor Regencia requested assistance from the DBM last October 2019 and highlighted the need for the city of more trucks to handle the city’s waste management and proper disposal.

Aside from the trucks that arrived, an additional of three (3) farm tractors were purchased by the LGU Iligan for the use of our farmers in the hinterlands. These tractors will be of great help with pre-production operations (land preparation) where the crops will be planted, for transportation of the products, and excavations. Along with these, the city also received mini-tractors from the Department of Agriculture Region X Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB).

This equipment can also be used during calamities for clearing operations and other related activities where heavy equipment will be needed.

The LGU also purchased five (5) new ambulance units, which are still assembled and are still due to be delivered soon to the city.

Father Mendez led the blessing ceremony of the city’s newly acquired machinery.
