City to implement new garbage collection system effective September 1

ILIGAN CITY, PHILIPPINES -The city government will implement through the Public Services Division (PSD) the new system on garbage collection in the city effective September 1, 2013.
In the color coding scheme, the bags where the garbage is placed has three colors. Yellow is for non-biodegradable garbage, Green is for biodegradable garbage and black is for garbage that cannot be recycled.
This was agreed during a meeting with 29 barangay captains present and authorities from the City Environment and Management Office (CEMO) headed by Ms. Alice Coronado. Also in attendance were Acting City Administrator Atty. Dexter Sumaoy and Alex Cabigon, head of Public Services Division. The schedule for the color coding scheme in barangays will be announced every now and then.
The city is enjoined to cooperate in the implementation of the new garbage collection system. ///(report from Ree J. Altres-CIO)
