Iligan City – Colegio de Iligan, a community college situated temporarily inside National Steel Corporation (NSC) Complex, officially opened on August 13.

320 (three hundred twenty) scholars and 19 Faculty members gladly received the keys to their second home and already started to carry out classes.

Colegio De Iligan is the First tertiary-level institution in Iligan funded solely by the city government of Iligan under the administration of City Mayor Celso G. Regencia, Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz, Councilor Petronilo Pardillo (Chairman on the Committee on Education) with the 16th Council and 17th Council with the goal of providing quality education for students who cannot afford and are unable to take part in regular College school curriculums.

Colegio de Iligan offers four baccalaureate degrees for its students: BS Criminology, BS Midwifery, BS Agriculture and BS Social Works that are designed for the public governance sector. The present administration is currently focusing on improving its programs with the opening of this institution as another milestone to be appreciated and enjoyed by the Iliganons.
