Iligan celebrates 68th Charter Day

(Monday, 18th day of June 2018)

ILIGAN CITY – Iligan commemorates Araw ng Iligan on June 16.  This year is the 68th, the program held in the City Public Plaza was graced by Mr. Salvador H. Ong, son of Mr. Benito Ong, the very first mayor of Iligan City. The city of Iligan was founded in 1953. The unity between the Muslims and the Christians was already evident then. And that was a sign of progress and the efforts of our ancestors to show that the city of Iligan does not exist for the Iliganons alone but also for those who join us in the spirit of camaraderie and harmony. We should have an attitude that adjusts and corresponds for the good of our city. My prayers would be that tomorrow may Iligan be restored as the progressive city that it is.)

The people who attended the event were entertained by Iliganons who excel in the field of music and dance.
