(Wednesday9th day of October 2019)

Iligan City – Sen. Go, together with Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Greco Belgica; Television personality Mr. Philip Salvador; and presidential assistant for the Visayas, Michael Lloyd Dino, visited Iligan City on October 9 to attend the ceremony for the opening of the 43rd Malasakit Center at the Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital (GTLMH) in Iligan City.

The Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop, a small booth in public hospital that houses desk representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippines Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Department of Health (DoH). These agencies have agreed to have their respective representatives present in the center so that people are able to transact without having to leave the hospital. (

“Sauna: Lunes, pila mo sa PCSO, Martes, pila napud mo, adto mo DoH, Miyerkules, pila mo sa DWSD, Huwebes, adto mo’g PhilHealth. Hurot inyong panahon, hurot inyong plete, ga-patak pa inyong bill. Mo-tabang man na sila tanan. Kung naa mo’y balanse, sauna kamo pa’y mo-bayad, mo-bunot pa mo, usahay mangutang. Karon kung naa na mo’y malasakit center sa inyong lugar sama ani, nasa isang kwarto na ang representative sa apat na ahensiya ng gobyerno. Mag aambag-ambag na sila na di mo na kailangan lumabas ng ospital, at kung may balanse po kayo, ang magbabayad na ang Malasakit Center galing sa fund na hawak ng city, (In the past: Monday, you queue on PCSO, Tuesday, again you’d queue on DoH, Wednesday, you’d queue on DSWD, Thursday, you’d queue on PhilHealth. You’ll waste your time, you’ll waste transportation fare, and your bill is still running. All of them would help. If you have a balance, before, you’ll be the ones to pay; sometimes you’d loan and be on debt. Now, through having a Malasakit Center in your area, such as this one, all the representatives of these four agencies would be in a single room, they’d contribute and you wouldn’t have to go out the hospital, and you would still have a remaining balance, the Malasakit Center Fund, held by the city would be used.)” Sen. Go explained. “Ang target ani, ZERO balance para sa mga pasyente. Kwarta ninyo ni, inyo ni, ginabalik lang sa inyo, (The target is ZERO balance for the patients. This is your money, it’s just being returned to you,)”, he added.

“Kini nga Malasakit Center, ika-43 sa tibuok Pilipinas, ug swerte kita nga usa kita sa natagaan ni-ini. (This Malasakit Center, the 43rd in the whole country, and we are so lucky that we are one of the recipients of this)” Mayor Regencia said on his speech. “Salamat kaayo Sir, imoha gyung gi-tagaan ug pag-tagad ang katawhan sa dakbayan sa Iligan. Sa amo, hilabi na ang mga kabos, dako kaayo ni nga tabang ang gi-tunol sa amoa. Mo-daghan pa unta ang mga senador nga pareha sa imo ug kasing-kasing. (Thank you so much, Sir, you gave attention to the people of Iligan. For us, especially the poor, this is such a great help that you’ve reached us. I hope there would be more senators that would have the same heart as yours.)” The mayor expressed his gratitude to the senator.

The Senator points out that this is not with political agenda but something every Filipino deserves and should enjoy.
